Screen Pop Perl Script cPOP

January 17th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Download cpop-060116.pl run where ever you want to see popups.

Normally, most of our call centers have permanently on agents, i.e. they are on musiconhold with moziax and get screen pop through URL on IAX2. However, WorldCable had agents that were using Linksys SIP hardphones, and those too not permanently on, but on ring basis. So, we had to come up with a way to link the phone with desktop and incoming call.

Tried about 25 different options (we kid you not) and not one worked (or that we could get to work). Finally, we ended up writing a simple PERL script that would monitor asterisk manager and do a firefox pop on the URL.

Have fun, enjoy the script and please do let us know of any improvements. If it breaks, keep both pieces …

    Hello,

I would like to use this script.
    Please provide more info:
where I should copy the file?
I have to do any changes if I have zap trunks?

    Thanks

You can put it anywhere you like. Err … yeah, you’d need to change somethings in there if you have other trunks. I think this is made for SIP/
I guess you can put it in variables etc … this is just meant to be a quick hack to get things working, you’d need to change/adapt it for your own particular deployment
